Shadowdancer - XLR8R Podcast

All I can say is I fucking love these guys!!
I've listened to a few of the tracks from their upcoming album , Golden Traxe (out next week!!), and they are just soooo good!
I'm not entirely surprised - they're signed to Boys Noize Records and quite frankly, Alex Ridha is someone whose judgement I couldn't question because he is just such a sensational talent himself!

Anyway, this podcast, it's INSANE! 42 tracks in 50 minutes!! As XLR8R so aptly point out, this is perfect for those of us who can't wait for a song to end in anticipation for the next one!!
So, in the spirit of A.D.H.D, XLR8R have kindly put up this podcast!

CCC x Adele

After meeting Adele on a flight from London to New York, Chewy Chocolate Cookies seems to have fallen in love (according to his blog!). I'm pretty sure it's musical love though.....

Anyway, quite rightly, he thinks she has an amazing voice and decided to remix "Hometown Glory". I have to say when I first saw it I was wondering how t would turn out but it's really good and CCC is an equally talented bloke! He is also very generous with the distribution of his remixes:

N.A.S.A x Everyone!

I'm very lazy this Sunday afternoon and whatever part of my brain which controls typing is dorment so thank fuck I found this video! What I will say is that I am in total awe and adoration of these guys - they are living the music geek's dream! Everyone should do the right thing and go out and buy "The Spirit of the Apollo" not only because it's an innovative record but because of the time and love it took to make it - there's a certain pride in owning an album like that.

Anyone who can make a song with Karen O+ODB or with Tom Waits+Kool Keith work has my vote! Check out the MySpace too!

Nike Dunk x Cherries

Nike have finally caught onto the fact that the majority of us girls would prefer not to have clown feet - enter the slim fit dunks!
About time - I was almost going to resort to Chinese binding so I could fit into smaller, and let's face it, more feminine loking sizes! I just hope that whilst they will be sacrificing width they won't encourage something too LONG!

Anyway, these cherry print slim dunks are a limited design available now. GO!

Modeselektor + Apparat = Moderat

They seem like and unlikely pairing but I really don't think that much wrong can come from this collaboration! The album is due to be released in April on BPitch but of course there's a good few pieces floating all over the interweb.

From what I've heard, other artists collaborating on the album are reggae singer Paul St. Hilaire and Rapper Delle. Remixes from Booka Shade also expected so I would be very surprised if this album wasn't pretty awe inspiring!!

Here are two tracks from previous collaborations - a good indication of things to come I feel!!

Moderat ft. Paul St. Hilair - Let your love glow (Hypem)

Moderat - Mode 2 (Hypem)

Thanks to the lovely people at Bodytonic, we are all blessed with this wonderful podcast by these crazy boys from Paris. It's always a relief when you spend 15 mins downloading a mix (shit internet connection!) and it's actually good!
If you haven't already visited the Bodytonic website have a little peek - they have a really good series of podcasts on there and lots of other bits and pieces worth the trip!

Throwback Thursday: Fleetwood Mac x Pet Shop Boys x Bad Manners

In view of the fact that I missed out on last week's installment I figured I'd put up three songs this week! It's a mixed bag!!

Fleetwood Mac needs no explanation - what a tortured bunch but the music is just GLORIOUS!

I cannot express to you how much I have no time for The Pet Shop Boys but the fuckers really go me with "West End Girls" - what a song!

Finally, if Ska doesn't make you happy then Bad Manners isn't for you! Lip up Fatty is a great little number though!!

Bon Iver : a VERY good winter

For those of you who weren't in existence last year, you were missing out on this soul food!
This Wisco quartet will surely be making their presence felt in the mainstream this year - let's just hope the radio stations don't go and fucking wreck it.

Anyway, the singer, Justin, has possibly got the most beautiful voice I've heard in a long time! I'm also intrigued by him because he became a recluse for three months in a cabin in the midddle of nowhere and the result: "For Emma, Forever Ago". The name for the band must have something to do with the fact that he had locked himself up in a snowy cabin in the wilderness.

It's fucking wonderful!

The Presets : If I Know You

I may be way off here but Julien's voice is a hybrid of Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet) and Morrissey in this song! It's fucking great! Enjoy the video and thank you Pitchfork!!

M.O.B x Kid Sister

A pretty good fucking match, I think you'll agree!!
As ever, Leah's collections are soooooo on point - if only I had the money to buy it all!!
Here are my favourites:

Throwback Thursday

Have been talking loads about The Clash recently and as they are one of my favourite bands of all time and Joe Strummer is a personal hero, it is only fitting to have them feature on Throwback.
For some reason, I can't embedd most of their videos so here's the link to one of my favourites!!

The Clash - Bankrobber

Also, for those of you who haven't had the pleasure/disdain of seeing the documentary about Joe, "The Future is Unwritten" you should go buy yourselves a copy or I'll lend you mine!
