Anyway, I'm actually quite looking forward to the colder fronts this time round becuase it gives me an exucse to embrace the following:
Balmain - I don't follow the catwalks religiously but I definately appreciate certain trends and styles that come from them. AW 08/09 for Balmain would be one such collection that made excited!! The kind of excited that could potentially be embarassing!
I just loved the edginess and rawness of it - it's so pretty but with such attitude! So, if this is what I'm going to be wearing then I will be happy out!!

And those boots that they are all wearing in those shots might just be the best ones I've seen for a while!! Which brings me to my second thing:
Boots: I would still wear boots in the summer so this is not necessarily a winter thing but there is definately more choice during the colder parts of the year. Now, for those of you who think I'm going to include Uggs in the list it is important for you to know that I absolutely despise Uggs with all of my heart and soul so needless to say they won't be getting a mention.
I still love ankle boots and aparently so do designers because they still seem to be everywhere! These are my favourites (i.e: these are the ones I'm going to buy!!) :

I also really love the Mocassin Fringe style boots and I found some really interesting websites that specialise in Mocassin style shoes and boots (And I bet they're gonna get very popular this next season with people like Alexa Chung and Kate Moss floating around in their little mocassin slip-ons!).

And my final pick is Socks and Tights. I wear tights wherever possible!! I prefer them to leggings. And novelty tights are my newest squeeze! The most beautiful ones which have yet to be beaten are the Bebaroques! They are just FABULOUS! Look at!!
And then, one of my favourites, American Apparel have the best over the knee socks which would look great with a pair of shorts, a mini or just with your P.J's (the best of the three!!).

Great post... although I must admit that I do love the darker months haha! I don't know how the Balmain show got under my fall radar, but somehow I missed it even thought I completely love all the looks you posted (the plaid pants in particular!)... well picked!
