Le Père Noël est arrivé.

My parents can expect to return from Christmas day mass to this little gem from Mehdi. (It's payback for a whole day of Gregorian chant last year.....I love it as much as the next person but by the end of the day I was tempted to reach for the noose.) So they'll be going from The Messiah to Momma's Boy!

Ah no, I'll save it for the Stephen's Day knees up because I know my guests will appreciate the following tracklist - a nice and tidy little package of electronic Christmas cheer:

1. SEVEN SEALS James Pants (Stone Throw)
2. SO MANY NIGHTS Burns (2112)
3. EVERYBODY WANTS Kid Sister & Green Velvet (Relief)
4. HUNGRY FOR THE POWER Azari & Ill/Agayo Remix (Cliché)
5. DISCOMONSTER Le Le/Mercury Remix (Magnetron)
6. GET ON DOWN Feadz (Ed Banger)
7. ATTO D’ARMORE Serge Santiago (Arcobaleno)
8. IF YOU CAME HERE Tony Senghore (Anonym)
9. CHAPEL OF GHOULS Boy-8-Bit (Mad Decent)
10. BECAUSE OF YOU Skunk Anansie/Michel Cleis Remix (One Little Indian)
11. BANGKOK Boris Dlugosh (Phantasy)
12. HELLS BELLS Arveene & Misk (Clampdown)
13. WEDOUWEDOU Momma’s Boy/Kid Kaio Remix (Sound Pellegrino)
14. COMPUTER JUICE Riton & Seiji/DIM & TAI Remix (Turbo)

Riton + Seiji - Computer Juice

I realise I'm late putting this up but give a girl a break, there's quite a backlog up in here at the moment. I am only ONE WOMAN!
Anyway, I know many of you will have already heard this one....have you heard it out yet? It's fucking GLORIOUS in the flesh!
Riton is getting very popular these days between this, his collaboration with Primary 1 and his own productions. He also recently played one of the famed Soulwaxmas gigs which in my opinion is a feat!
Meanwhile, Seiji is really making his name in London and elsewhere. He makes really nice BIG beats.....not at all like what he has done with Riton on 'Computer Juice' which means he's got range, YUP!
Go and check out his page, it got all his remixes and original tracks on, including some to download. My favourites so far are the Bassment Jaxx 'Scars' remix and the Seiji -vs- Lady Chann number, yum yum!

Also, have a free download of the D.I.M and TAI remix of this track.....it is also quite delicious:

This is the last day that this download is available so get your ass in gear!!

Throwback : Terrence Trent D'Arby

I think I'm definitely going to bring back my weekly throwback its because I've been un-earthy some pure gems. Start back with a BANG and by 'bang' I mean Terrence Trent D'Arby is one - I mean look at that bone structure. If I was a teenager when this was released I'm quite sure I would have been in love. Teenage obsessions aside, this is a great track which I do believe I will be re-instating into my musical repertoire from now on.

I realise that TTD changed his name to Sananda Maitreya years ago and aside from the fact that I have no interest in ever trying to pronounce this, nothing really ever compared to his TTD days! (His head is probably exploding somewhere at this point because he reckons Terrence Trent D'Arby is dead). Sound.

Tiga's new weekly remix series.

Not content to rest on his laurels, Tiga has now decided to launch a weekly remix series of the tracks from Ciao! I'm OK with this. I'm also OK with the talent he has roped in. (I'm sure he didn't have to ROPE anyone in.....personally I think he has the same powers as the snake from The Jungle book!)
He's got Brodinski, Jamie Lidell, Carl Craig, Trevor Jackson, Matias Aguayo and thensome!
So it's basically a powerhouse of DJs who are going to keep our feet busy each week during the month of February.

Here's what Tiga had to say about the whole affair:

"For these remixes, I looked to Titans," says Tiga on the project. "Standing on the roof of my greenhouse, I called out, 'Hey you, get off of that impossible cloud and into my car. We’re gonna drive all night 'til we hit Remix City!'"

And there'll also be an incentive for those shelling out for the entire collection: "If you purchase all four, I will write your name and credit card information in a special leather-bound book," Tiga explains. "Also one copy will include a silver ticket, which you can trade in for a golden ticket. Which does nothing."

No more words needed.

Kickdrum (Arveene & Misk Remix)

KickDrum (Arveene and Misk Remix) by arveeneandmisk

I've been wanting to write up about these guys for quite some time now but I was waiting for the Soundcloud because I'm getting a bit bored of putting up shitty YouTube videos. Turns out I was better off waiting because this new remix of Kickdrum is sensational! It's one of those tracks where on first listen you can pinpoint your favourite part of it immediately. For me it's at around the two and a half minute mark (I say "around" because I'd rather not admit that I know the EXACT point at which I love it!).

What makes it even better is that it comes from two boyos from Dublin! If I'm honest, I know very little about Misk.....this may be an inaccurate assumption but I reckon he might be the more elusive of the duo. I've seen Arveene play quite a few times over the years in Dublin and have never been disappointed.

Anyway, what do you really give a fuck about what I think....it speaks for itself. Be sure to check out the other remixes on their Soundcloud, especially the Oizo ones. Also, as it is the season and Rage are officially number one, you may wish to direct your attention to Arveene's re-work of "Killing in the Name" from a while back.

Kickdrum remix is out tomorrow so if you're behind on yizzer Christmas shopping.....?!

I must go now....my room mate accidentally set off her rape alarm and can't find the pin to stop it. Jaysus, never a dull moment!

Late of the Pier - Blueberry (Video)

Nice psychedelic / nostalgic / bizarre video.....good symmetry. If they are starting as they mean to go on we may well chomping down on something MAGICAL.

Meanwhile, in opposite world, the NME have really gone and fucked me off! Why would you give someone the option of embedding a video if it's not going to work. Another EPIC fail from those boys. Silly Mo Fo's!
Yet they are still going to be getting plenty of traffic to their site because you will have to click above the screen grab below to see the video.
Enjoy and ocular feast and to the NME enjoy nothing!

Maluca - El Tigeraso

'Speed Merengue'? BOOM!

Everyone is in a very GIVING mood at the moment! Aaaawwhhhhooooooooo!

Coachella 2010

I thought I would give ample notice......I am now officially accepting donations for my plane ticket to Coachella. So far I have £5 to start off the kitty so LET'S GO!

Never Be Your Womam - Solo (UK) Loves Garage Remix

Oh my DAYS! Yeah, I really like this! I wouldn't normally be much of a Wiley fan but this remix by Solo is off the chiz-ain! He has received quite a bit of attention of late and that is because he is fucking great. This little tropical streak he has going through his stuff is just what I'm feeling at the moment.

Check out his MySpace for the YES feeling.

(I noticed on there that he is playing Egg next year - shame I fear for my life in there.)

Oh yeah and well done Wiley etc etc.

Lara Love

Lara Stone = one of my ultimate girl crushes. It's quite alarming really because every time I see something involving her which I like she seems to be partially or stark naked. This is largely because French Vogue are infatuated with her and you can't be in French Vogue unless your willing to flash a little boob (at LEAST!). The other main reason she is often de-robed is because she has a body LIKE THAT! You can bet your bottom dollar I'd be doing the same if I looked like that!

Anyway. The next Love is out in February and she has been photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for the occasion .

By the looks of the cover she will be seeing through the naked theme.

Neon Indian x Grizzly Bear

One of my favourites over the last few months, Neon Indian are like lo-fi food for the soul. I'm very taken by the album, Chasms and feel that if you are not you should try really really hard and then if you still feel nothing I'm quite certain that you have no soul.

The there's Grizzly Bear. Now if you feel nothing for them either you definitely have a grave error somewhere in your spirit. You are essentially made of tin.

So now that we have established your capacity to "feel", I can introduce these two delightful Neon Indian remixes of Grizzly Bear's "Cheerleader". Read that again, it's a mouthful.

Neon Indian MySpace. Go there. You will hear beautiful sounds.

Dazed: Songs of the decade - Electronica

Music editor of Dazed, Tim Noakes, has put together a playlist of what he considers to be the best electronic music of the decade. It's a little bit of alright. (Minus the inclusion of the dreaded "donk" number - don't MAKE me have the Happy Hardcore debate again!)

What is not alright is that cat. The stuff of nightmares.
